An Exhibition and Sale of Wildlife Art

Online auction of donated pieces to raise money for Wildlife through Explorers against Extinction.

The idea was for each artist or celebrity to spend 26 minutes creating a sketch or piece of art to be donated to the cause - 26 minutes being significant because that is how often an elephant is killed!

I chose to donate a watercolour painting of a Hawksbill Turtle, completed in about 45 minutes.

Proceeds from the sale will help to fund work like this:

- There are less than 500 Sumatran Tigers left in the World. Our work will better equip the rangers who patrol the two National Parks where most of them live, removing snares and preventing illegal land clearance.

The Exhibition includes some amazing pieces and amusing celebrity efforts. Do check the dates and schedule of cities on the poster, including 2 venues in London and 2 in New York or go online to

www.explorersagainstextinction.co.uk

To bid on the pieces, starting as low as £50, visit the auction listings at

'THE VAMP' Collection with Activate Arts Chelmsford at Brentwood Art Trail

Members of Activate were invited to create a piece of art in based on a sketch by Steve Foster, which was the basis for his sculpture of the same title: The Vamp.  Our members were so taken with this suggestion that The Vamp now exists in many different styles and mediums.  We wanted to exhibit the pieces as a collection and that opportunity has arisen through Brentwood Art Trail, later this summer.

The image shows my acrylic painting of The Vamp.
