What an exciting afternoon, filled with the thundering hooves on the polo pitch, in the match between our Jamaican team and the visiting team from Rhode Island, USA. Half time involved champagne and divot stomping, fabulous hat competition, and sumptuous afternoon tea. Throughout the afternoon I was painting away in a corner of the tent. The idea was to paint a polo player on the Blue Hole Polo Grounds with the beautiful Hanover Hills in the background and that viewers would come and bid in the silent auction, for the finished piece. I’m happy to say that the painting was purchased by the parents of the player in the painting - a huge thank you to David and Nicky Farquharson. All the proceeds went to the Chukka Foundation/Hanover Charities.
I’m planning to repeat the exercise next year, so save the date for 16 February, 2020!
